Wi-Fi based embedded system helps in controlling home appliances from anywhere in the world with the use of internet. It can also be used for other long distance applications by enabling wireless communication. Arduino and esp8266 wifi module helps in the fulfilment of all these applications.
Its major advantages would be that it is inexpensive, has open source in hardware, don't need external programmer (Burner), has ease of programming, has open source in software and IDE Software operate on any operating system.
